Kettlebell Workout- Lateral Kettlebell Complexes
September 24, 2009 by admin
Sticking with our kettlebell training theme of “Same but Different” we simply apply some lateral movement to traditional kettlebell exercises.
Basically when we take our kettlebell training outside we prefer to have fun with our kettlebell exercises and training. You can be serious but sometimes just the joy of human movement is a much more rewarding experience than how many kettlebell snatches you busted out in 10 minutes.
Kettlebell training outside is also a great training environment for sport and athletics. It’s really a sad story that many people are very uncomfortable training outside in a natural setting, barefoot or not. It almost scares them.
Please try out these Lateral Kettlebell Complexes and enjoy your kettlebell training!

I dig it! Going to have to make it out to your next certification class. Or, maybe we can have you come in to do a certification for our F2 Boot Camp instructors…
Thanks Mike. I love that idea. I owe you some emails.
This is great. Thanks for sharing. I am going to add it to my personal workout tonight!
Jason,
Excellent sequencing with plenty of variety to enhance the neuromuscular benefits as well as the cardiovascular.
Great stuff! Always looking for new ideas to incorporate into my KB training!
Thanks JCB!
I see very short movements for the lower back. I believe a grapller needs a very flexible body, including the back. I dont think these exercises are good for grapling or BJJ. Am I wrong?
@ Jeff Barnes, thanks for visiting. No idea you lurked here.
@ Hector, You might not be able to see the back involvement from that angle.
Most kettlebell exercises are great for developing an attribute known as static strength-endurance. Static strength-endurance is very important for all grapplers.
Think about someone trying to break your posture while in their guard. Your ability to resist this comes partly from a good base of static strength-endurance throughout your back.
Flexibility is a different issue but these kettlebell exercises should not in any way hurt or decrease your flexibility.
@ La Saun. Anytime my kettlebell training sister.
@ Angie. Thansk for visiting and dropping a comment. I appreciate it.
